A moment that says it all.
He stood at a distance — silent, barefoot, and unseen.
While his peers ran across the field chasing dreams, Abdul Shakul stood still… watching. No words. Just hope in his eyes and dust at his feet.
I noticed him. Small frame. Head down. Fingernails in his mouth. The kind of shy that almost makes you invisible. As I walked toward him, I could tell he wasn’t sure whether to run or stay. When I asked for his name, he barely whispered it — “Abbu.”
With just 10 minutes left in our training session, I handed him a bib and said, “Come play.”
And that was all it took.
Abdul lit up.
The boy who stood in the shadows was now sprinting, smiling, and passing like he’d been there all along. The field gave him something he’d longed for — a place to belong.

We had the honour of meeting with the Special Assistant to the NFF President and the Head of Inter-Club and National Competitions at the Nigeria Football Federation , where we presented the AfriSportPro National Youth League project.
