As a safeguarding officer, every camp is more than just training and competition. It is a responsibility to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for every player.
In high-performance spaces like the U17 Junior Starlets camp, young athletes are not only developing their football skills, but also navigating growth, pressure, and personal challenges. Safeguarding ensures that their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being is protected at every level.
From establishing clear reporting structures, to building trust with players, to ensuring that team environments are free from harm, abuse, or neglect, safeguarding is central to the success of any team.
