Kwanza Heroes League 2025 Edition Crowns Emoru FC Champions!
The 2025 Kwanza Heroes League reached an exciting climax on Sunday, 26th October, at Amuka Grounds, where Emoru FC were crowned champions after a tense draw against Sportiff SC.
After 27 matches, Emoru FC topped the table with 62 points, narrowly edging out Sportiff SC who finished second with 59 points. The result meant Emoru only needed a draw to secure the title — and they did just that in style.
The champions walked away with KSh 50,000, a trophy, a set of jerseys, a ball, and a set of stockings. Runners-up Sportiff SC received jerseys and a ball, while Mirembe FC and Amuka FC also received team jerseys, courtesy of Godricks Kituyi Wanyonyi and Proplay Soccer Academy.
The colorful finale was graced by Hon. Jim Nduruchi, a Bungoma County Gubernatorial aspirant, assisted by Hon Joram Wataka, a Kwanza Ward MCA hopeful, who both showed their financial support to the teams in recognition of their dedication throughout the season.
Speaking during the event, League Patron Godricks Kituyi Wanyonyi congratulated all team managers and players for their consistency and passion over the 28-week competition.
“We continue to seek partners who will help kit our teams, support with playing equipment, and ease the burden of costs such as referees’ fees,” said Godricks.
He also hinted at seeking an elective position in the upcoming elections to expand his capacity for resource mobilization and league monetization, ensuring the program’s sustainability.
The Kwanza Heroes League continues to shine as a football-for-social-change initiative, empowering youth and transforming lives through the beautiful game.
