We are intentional.
Todays session focused on one of the most celebrated moments in football:
ā½ Finishing.
But before the goal comes the work.
The players competed in a fast-paced finishing exercise with two balls in play. The game never stopped. The decisions never stopped. The pressure never stopped.
Win the ball.
Find the coach.
Play the pass.
Attack the goal.
Finish.
Simple.
Yet not easy.
The boys quickly discovered that scoring is not just about striking the ball. It is about timing, awareness, movement, and composure.
When two balls are moving, distractions increase.
Pressure increases.
Thinking time decreases.
That is where the learning lives.
Can you stay calm when everything feels fast?
Can you recognize the opportunity before it disappears?
Can you finish when your heart is racing and everyone is chasing the same objective?
The best finishers are not always the hardest shooters.
Often, they are the calmest thinkers.
Football rewards players who can make good decisions at high speed.
Life does too.
Today the boys learned that goals are not accidents.
Goals are created through awareness, effort, teamwork, and the courage to take responsibility when the moment arrives.
Some goals were scored.
Some chances were missed.
Some celebrations were bigger than the goals themselves. šā½
But every repetition made the boys better.
That is growth.
That is development.
At PEVU, we are not just teaching boys how to score goals.
We are teaching them how to stay composed, make decisions under pressure, and finish what they start.
