?inspiration word this morning 🌄
As looked at before in a previous passage by John 10:7,9-10, the metaphor for Jesus as a shepherd is one that provides an exquisite metaphor for the relationship between Him and His followers. Extended here, this relationship takes on a dialectal dimension, with the shepherd being known to the sheep, just as Jesus mentions He is known to His Father and His Father to Him. This alludes to the fact that whilst the relationship may appear one-sided and paternal in nature, it is also reciprocal; we must know Jesus as much as He knows us, we must endeavor in understanding God as much as He already understands everything.
