Juventus StadiumĀ known for sponsorship reasons as theĀ Allianz StadiumĀ since July 2017,sometimes simply known in Italy asĀ the Stadium is anĀ all-seaterĀ footballĀ stadium in the Vallette borough ofĀ Turin, Italy, and the home ofĀ Juventus F.C.Ā The stadium was built on the site of its former ground, theĀ Stadio delle AlpiĀ in the latter 2000s, and is the first club-owned footballĀ modern venueĀ in the country.Ā It is also one of only four stadiums in Italy accredited with the UEFA Category 4,Ā which have the highest technical level in the confederations Stadium Infrastructure Regulations, alongside theĀ San Siro, theĀ Stadio Olimpico di RomaĀ and theĀ Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.Ā It was opened at the start of theĀ 2011ā12 seasonĀ and, with 41,507 spectators, it is theĀ sixth largestĀ football stadium in Italy byĀ seating capacity, as well the first inĀ Piedmont.
First football structure to be built inĀ post-modern styleĀ and the first without architectural barriers in the country, Juventus played the first match in the stadium on 8 September 2011 against the worlds oldest professional football clubĀ Notts County,Ā in a friendly which ended 1ā1;Luca ToniĀ scored the first goal.
The outcome is a compact stadium that would appear really modest if it wasnt for huge pylons painted in national colours of Italy. These structures were raised on both ends of the ground to carry the weight of steel roof thrusses positioned above the audience. Unfortunately during construction it came out that the roof needs further stabilisation and so supports were created inside the stadium, resulting in some fans seating in the corner having their view obstructed by thick steel ropes.
Building the stadium cost ā¬122 million for which Juve received a new venue with over 41,000 seats and additionally parking space for some 4,000 cars and such a number of possible guests in two huge conference/banqueting halls along with commercial space and 64 skyboxes.
