In a recent press conference, Botafogo manager Renato Paiva hit the nail on the head:
> “There are TWO TYPES OF FOOTBALL — real-life football and WALT DISNEY football.”
This statement should shake every coach, player, fan, and armchair analyst. Why? Because too many of us are getting lost in the fantasy of how football should be played — instead of understanding what the game demands.
🔍 Let’s break it down:
✅ Real-Life Football is built on:
Knowing your strengths AND limits.
Respecting the opponents quality and tactics.
Adapting game plans to match situations.
Accepting that sometimes you can’t dominate.
❌ Walt Disney Football is built on:
Idealistic, fan-driven expectations.
“All-out attack all the time.”
Fantasy logic like “We beat Team A, so we must destroy Team B.”
Disregarding opposition quality or tactical demands.
