One year ago, one of the greatest moments in FTBLRLIFE history ❤️

I had just wrapped up a trip in Kenya and stopped in Kitale to meet Moses Zewedi and the Mesa Mighty Eagles. When I arrived, Moses was pacing, phone in hand, desperately trying to secure funds for the team’s flights to a tournament in Europe. The year before, half the squad had been left behind at the gate due to lack of money. The stress was real.

We had a great meeting, but I left not knowing if they would make it.

Then on Saturday night at Nairobi airport, as I walked toward my gate… there they were. The entire Mesa Mighty Eagles team, smiling, ready to board. I can’t describe the relief and joy I felt in that moment.

These trips are life-changing. Some of those players went on to be signed as professional footballers.

This is what FTBLRLIFE is all about, creating real opportunities and walking alongside grassroots clubs and dreamers across Africa and beyond.

Huge respect to Moses Zewedi and the Mighty Eagles for their resilience and belief.
