Alex “Aleko” Namolia is a highly disciplined and reliable goalkeeper from Kitale, Kenya, whose football journey began on the dusty pitches of Shimo la Tewa Village. His exceptional shot-stopping ability, composure under pressure, and strong work ethic earned him recognition at the Mighty Eagles Soccer Academy , where he developed into one of the academy’s most accomplished goalkeepers. He served as the first-choice goalkeeper for both MESA and St. Michael’s Top Station High School, consistently trusted to start in high-stakes matches.
One of Aleko’s notable achievements was being part of the historic MESA squad that represented Kenya at the 2023 Gothia Cup in Sweden, where the team advanced to the semi-finals. He also participated in the Dana Cup in Denmark, another significant milestone, where MESA delivered an impressive performance by once again reaching the semi-finals, further demonstrating his quality on the international stage.
Another key accomplishment came while representing St. Michael’s Top Station High School, Kitale, during the 2023 KSSSA Games. Through a series of outstanding performances and crucial saves, he played a pivotal role in guiding the school from the zonal stage to the county level for the first time in its history, firmly establishing his reputation as a goalkeeper who excels in high-pressure situations.
He has also recently made his full-time debut for COMPEL FC, earning his first official start in the final match of the previous season, marking an important step in his transition into senior competitive football.
Now featuring for COMPEL FC in Kenya’s Division One, Aleko continues to pursue excellence with discipline, leadership, and resilience.
