Coach Ugamile: A Beacon of Youth Development in School Football
While results may not have gone his way, Coach Ugamile of St. Benedict is earning admiration far beyond the pitch — for his exceptional commitment to nurturing young talent in school football.
In the previous USSSA Ball Games One , he boldly fielded a 12-year-old — the youngest participant in the tournament. Now, in Ball Games Two , he’s done it again — this time introducing a remarkable 10-year-old into competitive play.
Though his side fell to a stronger St. Peter’s outfit in the U16. Ugamile’s vision remains clear: building future stars from the grassroots. His courage to trust and develop very young players is a powerful reminder that youth football is not just about winning — it’s about growth, exposure, and long-term development.
Coach Ugamile stands as a shining example of what true talent development looks like in Ugandan school sports.
