Trenches Super 8wasn’t just a tournamen. It was an experience these lads will carry for a long time.
Before it started, I knew my boys weren’t fully there yet. This was never about chasing trophies. The real goal was exposure. I wanted them to feel a proper tournament. The pressure. The nerves. The responsibility of wearing a team badge. Almost every boy played, and that mattered to me. Win or lose, I wanted each of them to go home with a medal and a memory. Yes, even if it was just participation 😂
But they surprised me.
We presented five PTE teams and invited three external teams. By the end of the day, two of our own teams were facing each other in the third place match. PTE finished third and fourth overall. On top of that, we picked up Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament and Best Youngest Player.
That is evidence.
Evidence of the work happening quietly every week. Evidence of growth. Evidence that the process is working, even when the boys are still learning.
It was never about winning. It was about learning how to compete, how to believe, and how to show up when it matters. And today, the lads truly tried.
I’m proud of them.
